Four players take their positions around a huge 35ft x 35ft inflatable. Each is attached to a bungee, a collection of balls is waiting in the middle and everybody has exactly the same objective: get to the centre, grab as many balls as possible and somehow make it back before the bungee pulls them away.

Our Inflatable Hungry Hippos transforms the familiar tabletop concept into a physical competition for adults and children. Instead of pressing a plastic lever, you're doing the running, stretching and grabbing yourself, with three opponents simultaneously trying to beat you to the middle.

Four Players Enter, One Hungry Hippo Wins

Hungry Hippos accommodates up to four players at once. Each competitor is connected to their own bungee and starts from a separate position around the inflatable.

When the round begins, everyone heads towards the balls in the centre. The bungees make that considerably harder than it sounds. Players have to fight against the resistance, collect their balls and return them before heading back for another attempt.

Once the round finishes, count the collections. Whoever has managed to retrieve the most balls wins.

At approximately 35ft x 35ft, this isn't a little side game tucked away in the corner of an event. Hungry Hippos is a substantial inflatable activity with four people competing simultaneously, making the action easy for other guests to follow.

That spectator appeal is particularly useful at Teambuilding Hire events and Corporate Events. Colleagues can represent different teams, competitors can progress through knockout rounds or organisers can record results across multiple heats.

Because the inflatable is suitable for both adults and children, it can also become a major attraction within Family Fun Day Hire programmes where the audience isn't restricted to one age group.

Run Heats, Knockouts or a Hungry Hippos Tournament

A single round is entertaining, but the competitive format gives event organisers plenty of opportunities to go further. Put four players into each heat, send the winner through to the next stage and continue until you've found your Hungry Hippos champion.

At school, university, corporate or club events, competitors can instead earn points for their team. Hungry Hippos can then become one station within a larger programme featuring Inflatable Games and Inflatable Obstacle Courses.

It's a useful combination because Hungry Hippos tests determination, reactions and speed in a very different way from a conventional race.

If a longer electrical lead is required, please let us know in advance. A lead of up to 50 metres maximum may be available where appropriate.

Indoor and Outdoor Hungry Hippos Events

Hungry Hippos is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, subject to having an appropriate venue or site. Its 35ft x 35ft dimensions need to be considered when choosing an indoor location, so check that your venue provides sufficient usable space before booking.

For outdoor installations, the inflatable is supplied with the necessary blower, pegs and safety mats as part of the setup. If you're unsure whether your proposed location is suitable, contact us with the details before your event.

Safety Documentation for Organised Events

Knockout Laughs carries £5 million public liability insurance, with the certificate available on request. Electrical equipment is PAT tested annually, and certificates can also be provided when required.

The inflatable receives an annual safety inspection, with certification available upon request. A risk assessment can also be supplied, which can be particularly useful when organising school, corporate, council, university or other professionally managed events.
